I feel uniquely qualified to inform you about this is partially from my academic background in child research. I obtained 2 degrees from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, the latest focusing in Cognitive Neuroscience. I spent my Senior year participating in studies involving kids with ADHD and also collaborating with the Dalai Lama’s Deputy Secretary for experiments in meditation.
I learned that a major marker on the frontier of neuroscience is the concept of mindfulness as it pertains to mental health, especially when it comes to children. I believe wholeheartedly that there are SERIOUS parallels to this concept of mindfulness and also what I see going on at Mata Leao Gym, right here in SE Portland.
